An important reminder ...
The deadline for Most ABLE
nominations is Friday.
The 2004 "Ability is Ageless" Luncheon
will take place on Wednesday, October 20. But the deadline
for submitting nominations for the Most ABLE Awards is coming up
this Friday, October 1.
The luncheon, a
memorable and heartwarming event hosted by Michigan's leading
provider of job training and employment assistance for mid-career
and older workers, will be held at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn from
noon to 2 p.m. on October 20.
This
celebration is a very positive way for employers to honor older
workers who make a daily difference at their companies through their
experience, work ethic and dedication to excellence.
The deadline for submitting
nominations of outstanding older workers to be considered for one of
the nine Most ABLE Awards is Friday, October 1.
Each person
nominated by his or her employer will receive a Certificate of
Distinguished Service and will be featured in the luncheon's slide
presentation and program book.
A committee of human resource
professionals and workforce development specialists will select nine
honorees to receive the Most ABLE Award. These honors will be
presented by Carmen Harlan, the event's emcee, in
an especially moving ceremony.
"If your company
has an especially outstanding worker whom you'd like the selection
committee to consider, it's very important to submit that nomination
by October 1," notes Karen Kosniewski, president of Operation
ABLE.
"We will continue to
accept nominations after October 1," says Kosniewski.
"Although there may not be enough time for these workers to be
considered by the committee, they will still be included in the
slide show and program booklet."
To be eligible, a nominee must live or work in Michigan, be 50 years
of age or older or have 25 years of service to a company by October
20, 2004, and be currently employed. There is no limit to the
number of employees a business or organization can nominate.
The nomination form can be downloaded from ABLE's web site at
www.OperationABLE.org and can be returned by e-mail. The
forms can also be obtained by phoning ABLE at (248) 443-0370.
