"The Gems of Detroit"
Wednesday, May 24, 2006
6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Gem Theatre in Detroit

Join us on May 24 for "The Gems of Detroit" at the historic Gem Theatre in downtown Detroit to observe Operation ABLE of Michigan's twentieth anniversary, present ABLE Exemplar Awards to four outstanding Detroiters for their accomplishments, and raise funds for scholarships to the ABLE program.

Operation ABLE of Michigan is truly one of this community's "Gems." This year we are marking two decades as the area's top resource for jobs and training for mid-career and older workers. The funds raised this evening will be used to assist the many people who need help finding a job during these challenging times.

You're invited to ...

  • Celebrate the valuable community contributions of Edsel B. Ford II, Keith Crain, Shirley Stancato, and Gail Torreano.

  • Enjoy an evening of jazz with performances by Leonard Townsend and Friends, saxophonist Yancyy, and the Renaissance High School Jazz ensemble.

  • Bid on a fabulous array of items in the silent auction.

  • Have a chance for exciting trips to Hawaii and other destinations in the charity raffle.

  • And, above all, support Operation ABLE's mission of Linking Experience, Learning and Jobs.
