  MARCH 27 FAIR ATTRACTS COMPANIES & TRAINING PROVIDERS

More than 35 southeastern Michigan companies and educational institutions will be meeting job seekers and those considering new careers who are 40 and older at the 21st Annual Operation ABLE “Ability is Ageless” Job & Career Fair on Thursday, March 27.
The fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the  Plaza Hotel & Conference Center, at 16400 J.L. Hudson Drive in Southfield.

Companies will be recruiting for a variety of positions in accounting, bookkeeping, sales and management, customer service, computer applications, health care, human resources, clerical, light industrial and franchising opportunities.  Last year over 2,500 job seekers attended the fair.

“The fair attracts hundreds of older workers who have a tremendous amount of talent and work experience to offer to employers,” said Mary McDougall, president of Operation ABLE, the organizer of the event. 

“Employers see this unique event as an opportunity to tap into the mature labor pool to meet their needs for dependable workers with a very strong work ethic,” noted McDougall. 

 “Exhibitors have told us repeatedly that this is one of the best fairs available, and are impressed with the quantity, quality, and diversity of the candidates they meet,” she added.

“Many of the people who will be attending the fair are considering a new career or need to update their job skills for today's job market,” said McDougall  “With this in mind, educational institutions such as community colleges and universities are also exhibiting and taking advantage of this opportunity to meet potential students.

How to Register
The fee to exhibit is $250.  Download the registration form and return it by e-mail, postal mail, or fax by March 17 along with your payment   The form is a Word document that can easily be filled in offline.
