22nd Annual Job/Career Fair Set for March 25 -  REGISTER NOW!


Operation ABLE of Michigan, a Spectrum Human Services affiliated company, is currently accepting registrations from companies and educational institutions interested in recruiting at the 22nd Annual “Ability Is Ageless” Job & Career Fair.   The fair is aimed at job seekers 40 years of age and older

Operation ABLE will host this unique recruiting opportunity on Wednesday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Plaza Hotel & Conference Center in Southfield located at 16400 J.L. Hudson Drive in Southfield.

Exhibitors - Register Now for "Early Bird" Discount - Only $195

The registration deadline for exhibitors is March 18.  Exhibitors who return the attached form to ABLE by February 28 pay only $195.  After February 28, the exhibitor fee is $250.  The fee includes booth space, signage, and a continental breakfast and deli lunch for 2 company representatives.

The form is a Word document that can be downloaded, filled in offline and then returned by e-mail as an attachment.  It can also be sent by postal mail or fax to the attention of Phil Floyd. The form can be downloaded from ABLE's web site by clicking here or by calling 1-800-922-HIRE (4473).

Free Help for 55+ Laid Off Detroiters


Operation ABLE of Michigan has received special funding from the Detroit Workforce Development Department to help laid off Detroiters  55 years of age and older.

Free services include 240 hours of training over 8 weeks to develop or improve computer, customer services, and reading/math skills and another 4 week of help in conducting a job search, developing a resume, applying for jobs online, and preparing for interviews.

Operation ABLE holds regular information meetings at its office in the Hannan House to explain the eligibility requirements and how to take advantage of this help.

Those who are between 40 and 55 years of age are also encouraged to attend these meetings and learn how they might qualify for help at Operation ABLE through Michigan's "No Worker Left Behind" initiative.

Attached is a flyer to pass along to mid-career individuals who are frustrated with the current job market and who may be eligible for help at Operation ABLE.
