Internet Training

Using the Internet to access today's increasing volume of information is quickly becoming a basic skill we all need to master.   Need help knowing where to start?  Operation ABLE offers one-day workshops that introduce the Internet in a framework tailored to specific applications.

All Internet classes are held at the Southfield Center.

The Internet as a Career Transition Tool
The first half of this hands-on course will introduce you to the basic terminology and startup procedures for using the Internet.   You will learn about search engines, the world wide web, home pages and explore various web sites.  In the second half you will explore a variety of web sites that can be helpful for finding job leads, researching companies and gaining career-related information.  You will also learn how to prepare your resume to e-mail via the Internet.  You will receive an extensive handout.

How to Research Funders on the Web
During this hands-on workshop, development professionals will explore a variety of Internet resources for fundraising.  Some of the areas covered will be ways to identify grant opportunities, research potential corporate donors, and discover guidelines for government and foundation grants. Participants will have the opportunity to share their favorite fundraising sites.  An extensive handout will be provided.  As a prerequisite to this workshop, you should have some Internet experience.
